There are many reasons. You might be unsure of where to start and need help navigating a gym environment or exercise equipment. You may have a past injury or niggle and want to ensure you are continuing to exercise in a safe and beneficial way. Perhaps you are very busy and need the appointment in your diary to prioritise yourself. Or maybe you struggle with motivation and need that little bit of external accountability to stay committed to a programme or lifestyle that you know is good for you. Identifying your 'why' is the first step in discovering what's possible.
A lot of people do the same exercise over and over again, only to be disappointed to see that their body isn't changing. I like to introduce variety to my clients workouts and use the exercise principles of overloading, variable intensity, frequency and periodisation to keep their bodies responding and adapting. I'm a big fan of functional training and use free weights and primal movements rather then machines unless needed for rehab or form. I will do my best ensure you get the most out of your workout sessions, whatever results you are training for.
My in-person training is based in a private studio in Havelock North. There are a range of options to train with me there. I also have options for those needing to train online or be home-based. Contact me to discuss!
